I work with some wonderful staff in the psych hospital. We handle patients in psychiatric crisis, which can get quite colorful at times. It’s stressful work, and I am often impressed with the combination of skills and talent that doctors, nurses, and other staff bring to this challenging environment.
One of the docs I work with has the most wonderful manner with his patients. He is kind and gentle, listens patiently, and is able to explain things in simple and understandable terms. His patients—even the very challenging ones—just love him. One of them used to express these feelings by asking him repeatedly, “Why are you so cute?” Of course, he recognized this as the transference that it was and would deflect the question appropriately.
When I first began to observe this man’s work, I thought, “He must have a very well-functioning tenth house.” (As the reader may know, I tend to see things in astrological terms.) Eventually, and as we became friends, I worked up the courage to ask for his birth data. He was kind enough to agree, and has given me permission to write about it here.
Sure enough, Dr. Cute's 10th house is in wonderful shape. Pisces is on the cusp, making Jupiter Lord 10. Jupiter is in Pisces, in rulership and terms. It is placed in the 9th, one of its own houses. Jupiter also rules the 6th, the house of illness and hospitals, where we work to help and heal those who are ill.
The Lord of the Geniture is the planet with the most essential dignities in a natal chart. Jupiter serves this role here as well. Sun and Venus, both in Sagitarrius, dispose to it. This is good news, as it gives Jupiter even more sway in the chart and the life. For the icing on the cake, Lord 7 is in the first house and exalts Jupiter. Yes, people love this guy! His patients hold him in high esteem, and it is well deserved.

Walker wins, as predicted
Not only did Walker win, but he won by a landslide--54 to 45 percent at last count. By tomorrow morning we will know the final margin of victory.
Tom Barrett gave a lovely speech, with his wife and four red-headed children behind him. Walker gave a strong speech, too; he stopped his supporters from booing at the mention of Barrett's name. He says he wants to work with everyone now that the election is over. It could be just rhetoric, but let's hope he means it.
Just a few more points on the astrology. I forgot to mention the presence of Pluto very close to the Ascendant. (Please refer to the chart in the previous post.) Clearly, this was an affliction for Barrett. Note, too, that Barrett's planet, Saturn, is on Spica. Spica is one of the most favorable fixed stars in the heavens. Barrett will be okay in spite of this defeat.
We can safely say now that Moon in Mars' sign did mean the electorate favored Walker. My argument made sense, but the huge margin of victory confirms a more straightforward interpretation.
Good night, and On, Wisconsin.

Prediction: Wisconsin Recall Election
On Tuesday, June 5th, Wisconsinites will go to the polls to decide if Republican Governor Scott Walker will remain in power or be booted out of office.
Walker was elected governor over Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in November of 2010. A few months later, Walker put himself and all of Wisconsin in the national spotlight by ramming through anti-union legislation in spite of massive protests. Since that time, Wisconsin has been sharply and intensely divided (politically speaking) into those who adore Walker and those who despise him. There is very little middle ground.
Here's a good summary of the situation in today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (6/3/12):
"Tuesday's election is the culmination in Wisconsin of a spectacular activist eruption featuring the largest protests since Vietnam, one of the biggest petition drives in election history and a recall movement without any precedent in American politics."
Anti-Walker activists collected over a million signatures in support of a recall election to give Wisconsin a chance to fire Walker and hire someone else. That someone else, as it turns out, is Tom Barrett. Yes, the same man who lost to Walker just two years ago. Can Barrett beat Walker this time around?
"Will Barrett win on Tuesday?" June 1, 2012, 10:15 pm CDT, Wauwatosa, WI (43N03, 88W00)
What we must know in order to judge this question is, Who does the querent support? (Those of you who have John Frawley's The Horary Textbook, please see pages 212-213 in the chapter "Seventh House Questions.") This is a little tricky, because the querent intends to vote for Barrett but is not an avid supporter. Nonetheless, it is appropriate to give Barrett the first house because querent wants him to win. Walker, as reigning governor, is 'king' and therefore gets the 10th house. Barrett is Saturn, Walker is Mars.
Moon is the key to judgement, as it represents the electorate. Moon in Scorpio makes it appear that the electorate favors Walker. Given the two camps, though, it's more accurate to say that voters are preoccupied with ('ruled by') Walker. This makes sense: The election is all about Scott Walker. There is a pro-Walker camp and anti-Walker camp, but both are focused on him.
More importantly, it's what the Moon does in the chart that determines judgment. To quote from The Horary Textbook (p. 213): "If the Moon goes to aspect the significator of one of the candidates, that candidate will win."
So where is the Moon headed? At 9 Scorpio, its first aspect will be a sextile with Mars at 15 Virgo. Walker will win.
Who's the worthier candidate? Mars (Walker) is peregrine and in the 8th house. No essential dignity, so he is the bad guy. Saturn (Barrett) is exalted in Libra and Rx (retrograde) in the 9th. Rx makes sense: running again. Exaltation is good, but in an exaggerated way. In the end, though, it doesn't matter who is more deserving. Being the better candidate never guarantees a win.
On Tuesday night late--or perhaps early Wednesday--we shall see if this prediction holds true.
